It is a great moment for Ford, as its new vehicle is available in electric form. The Mach-E might lack in premium luster and typical driver engagement, but it’s very appealing and comes with several features that would attract the customers.
The new vehicle is a high-rise, four-door crossovers hatchback. The customers are provided with two choices, they can get one motor or two. There is a bigger drive battery and a lighter one, which provide up to 371 miles of WLTP-certified range. This is the range that Tesla vehicles provide you and it’s more than what electric vehicles of Polestar, Jaguar, Audi, or Mercedes provide.
If you consider that it’s the debut of the vehicle in the electric version, it seems pretty impressive. Although it might not seem as impressive as the strategic design behind it, which, if works, could be big. If a Mustang is turned into an electric car, it means it would come with high expectations, as people would expect it to provide the same great driving experience. But, as you can assume, many critics won’t be happy as they would say it can get out the same experience from underneath of. But, in our opinion, it doesn’t too badly with it and the weight it carries.
People need to keep in mind that this is a new Mustang and not the new Mustang. Can you imagine what would have happened if Dearborn has swapped a 5.0-liter V8 for a couple of electric motors.
The company has to do what we expect many other established car manufacturers to do. They should consider their tough job to cut the average carbon emission of the vehicles, which it sells. This way it will be able to avoid big fines. The company realizes this and it is not news to them, as this is why we have seen such a rush to launch an electric car this year. They have sold a huge number of V8-powered Mustangs in Europe, even more than what they expected to, but it’s not working in their favor. It won’t help them in achieving that big job.
Only an EV can help the company achieve a big job. The Blue Oval has been working to manufacture a proper EV since 2014. You might think, it should have been something smaller and affordable, but you have got what you have got. An affordable and attractive vehicle would have done even well, we think, but the company decided to make the vehicle as it is.
